Chaplains in WW2 were continuity. The chaplain would arrive with his portable organ and begin to sing songs from the soldier’s adolescence and the destruction all around him would begin to fade away.
My personal path to being a chaplain began with my grandfather, Kenneth. He was a World War II veteran, and I lived with him for a number of years. He placed a love of military history into my heart and I miss him very much and honor him through my actions.
